Girl Gets Tongue Stuck on Cold Flag Pole…Really

What do you do on a cold day when you are bored?  Not this.

In Kingston, New Hampshire a 12-year-old girl actually got her tongue stuck to the flag pole in her front yard.

On Saturday, Maddie Gilmartin thought to herself, “Hey what would happen if I stuck my tongue to a flag pole?”

She found out. Just like on the movie "A Christmas Story" it got stuck...bad. She tried pulling it off. Then she started waving her arms which got her parents’ attention.

They were able to get her free by using some warm water while waiting for EMS to arrive. Then they took her to the emergency room. Maddie is fine but she says her lips feel like "they’ve been stung by a lot of bees".

There wasn't even a "Double Dog Dare". Go figure.
