It's not just any girl who threw out the first pitch at this Indians game.

Adriana Aviles, 4, is the daughter of the Cleveland Indians' Mike Aviles. Earlier this year, Adriana was diagnosed with leukemia, causing her dad to leave the team for 10 days while she was treated.

After Adriana was diagnosed, her dad promised she could throw the first pitch out sometime this season. Well, that sometime turned out to be Thursday night against the New York Yankees. Adriana took the field, along with her twin sister, Maiya, in a scene that will give you all the feels.

It's the latest warm gesture by the Indians. Back in May, the players shaved their heads in support of Adriana.

This story is pretty inspiring and, along with Devon and Leah Still, reminds us that professional athletes are also people who sometimes have to battle adversity, too.
