Good Morning America Shakeup

Veteran ABC weatherman Sam Champion has announced he’s leaving the morning talkfest at ABC to become an on-air host of a new multi-hour morning weather program, and the new managing editor at The Weather Channel.

He will be moving to the channel where his NBC rival Al Roker has had his morning weather program, “Wake Up With Al”,  for years. However Champion will be based in Atlanta and Roker will remain in New York.

Champion has been with “Good Morning America” since 2006 and his last day will be  Wednesday, December 4th.
