Reports of several streets and intersections flooded out made travel around the city challenging on Monday.

While most people were expecting to watch the eclipse we never expected to be stuck inside trying to stay dry.

Those who did get a view of the moon crossing the path of the sun on Monday were probably not here in Sioux Falls where thunderstorms unleashed heavy rain.

My rain gauge held 1.70 inches of rain.  And Brandon Spinner of KDLT TV reports that up to seven inches was recorded near 49th and Sycamore.

City crews setup barricades at almost a dozen sites.  The bike trail was underwater in many of the parks due to the flooding.

And I got out of mowing the lawn for another day.
