Demi Lovato , who's been in rehab after a reported relapse and drug overdose in July, is temporarily leaving treatment to seek out additional help.

According to TMZ, Lovato has flown to Chicago at the suggestion of doctors to see a specialist who can cater more specifically to her needs. The site says she'll spend a few days in the Windy City before heading back to rehab, where she's been for about a week.

"Demi and her mom landed in Chicago on a private jet at 2 AM Friday. We're told she's there to see a psychiatrist who specializes in mental health, sobriety and overall wellness," the site says.

Lovato first opened up about her relapse and overdose earlier this week in an Instagram post.

"I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction," she wrote to her followers. "What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet."

"I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery," she added. "The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting."
