South Dakota statistics show that in the last 30 days, 39% of all teens have had at least one drink of alcohol and that 23% of teens reported riding in a car driven by someone who was drinking.

Darcy Jensen of Prairie View Prevention Services says unsupervised house parties for teens can lead to dangerous consequences, and those parties can happen as a result of just one phone call or text message.  South Dakota teens report that they drink at house parties more than at any other place.  This leads to kids getting in their cars to drive home.   And, that can be a deadly choice!
