Getting divorced or know someone who is in 2015? There's a very good chance there's a mother-in-law behind the decision.

Obviously the intent here is not to lay the entire blame at the feet of all the mother-in-law's who have children with rocky marriages out there. As you know, it takes two people to tango, and there is always a number of contributing factors that get two people to the point of splitsville.

What is interesting, is the amount of influence a mother-in-law has over whether a shaky marriage survives.

No matter how good a relationship you feel you have with your mother-in-law, one thing is for sure, she will always prioritize her own child over you. And no one has more influence on your husband or wife than your mother-in-law.

A new study of divorced couples reveals two out of three say their mother was the one who helped them make the ultimate decision to pull the plug.

While 10% say their siblings helped them make the tough call, and 6% say their children's feelings helped them make the final decision to call it quits.

Two-thirds of those people have no regrets and are now happy with the decision they made. There's no word how much of that two-thirds overlaps with the two-thirds whose mothers helped them decide to end their marriages.

What is known however, is that 44% of divorced people claim they never really got along with their in-laws before the subject of divorce came up.
