If one of your resolutions for the New Year is to tell your employer to "Take this Job and Shove It", but you're so non-confrontational you just haven't been able to muster up the courage to get that done yet, this might help.

There's a new iPhone app out now called Quit Your Job which will help you carefully craft your "I quit" text message to your boss. Then it will send it to your employer. The app also has another benefit; you can use it to browse for a new job online. Chances are you're going to have to come up with the guts to interview in person for your next job however. I don't believe they've developed an interview app yet?

An employment company called TheLadders built the resignation app.

Their motto is, "Despite all the advances in technology we still quit our jobs the same way we did hundreds of years ago,"

Anyone who has ever quit or contemplated quitting a job knows there can be a tremendous amount of anxiety that goes along with the resignation process. TheLadders recommends that you use technology to ease the pain of the break up with your boss.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I'm guessing if you quit your job by sending a text message, you wouldn't just be burning a bridge; you'd be blowing up the bridge. Call it a hunch, I could be wrong.

Regardless, if you want to give it a try, the app is available for free in the App Store.
