I have loved and been fascinated by pandas from the time I was a tiny tot through today. I once heard someone say "God makes all babies cute because it makes us want to protect them". But, I also suspect there may be a laundry list of evolutionary and perhaps sociobiological reasons why we find most baby animals (including humans) so darn irresistible.

And of course, the location on planet Earth which seems to have the most luck breeding pandas is China. The breeding center in Chengdu, China just debuted six pairs of twin panda cubs last weekend. Apparently it is fairly common for pandas to have twins in the wild and in zoos, but they often don't survive because of the difficulty of caring for two cubs. So thank goodness for research and breeding centers like this one.
