Motley Crue is one of my favorite bands. My best friend growing up, Kyle, and I were huge fans growing up. He flew up to Sioux Falls and went with me to the show they played at the Arena on April 1, 2006. So when they announced they were going on their "Final Tour" I decided I wanted to fly down to Denver to see it with him there.

We went to the show on Saturday (August 2) at the Pepsi Center. While the concert started about 40 minutes late as the crew was still setting up Alice Cooper's stage, it was worth the wait.

This was the first time I had seen Alice Cooper and he put on a killer 40 minute set. The Frankenstein Alice freaked me out a little. It was cool!

One of the highlights of Motley's performance is Tommy Lee's drum coaster. According to the guy in front of us, the Pepsi Center show was only the second show of the tour so far where they were able set up the full coaster rig. We got covered in confetti from it too. It was so thick I got it in my eyes and couldn't see. You can see that in the video below.

Another highlight was during "Shout at the Devil" when Nikki Sixx came out on stage with a flamethrower attached to his bass. That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen at a show.

The encore was "Home Sweet Home." But before playing it, the band was escorted through the crowd to a second stage in the back that was on an elevator. When that ended, the lights came up, they walked to the back of the arena and left through a tunnel as "My Way" by Frank Sinatra played. It was a great ending.
