If You’re Not Going To Tip With Money, Then Shut Up

A waitress in South Carolina is trying to remain anonymous after a tip/note she got went viral.

She is a waitress and usually enjoys her job. She was waiting on a older couple and everything seemed fine until the end of the meal.

She wasn't left a tip in the form of money, she was left a lengthy note telling her she's living her life wrong.

If you can't read the note it goes as follows:

“Thank you for your excellent service today – you’re a good waitress.
Here’s your tip:
The woman’s place is in the home. Your place is in the home. It even says so in the Bible. You may think that you’re contributing to your household by coming into work, but you’re not. While you’re in here ‘working’ this is the reason your husband must see another woman on his way home from a long day at his work. Because you should be home taking care of the household duties, you may think what you are doing ‘working’ is right, it is really essentially a disgrace to his manhood and to the American family. So instead of coming to your ‘job’ and looking for handouts to feed your family, how’s about going home and cleaning your house and cooking a hot meal for your husband and children, the way your husband and God intended, and help make America great again. Praying for families and our nation.

Excuse me? What year is it again?

The waitress did tell her local news affiliate, WYFF, that, "I have never been married, and have no children. I have a very loving and supportive boyfriend who has been by my side as I have been working and trying to further my education."

I work part time in retail and I remember one time, on a Sunday, a gentleman that was shopping with his wife made a comment to a co-worker of mine that we shouldn't be open on Sunday because it's the day of rest. Well, sir, if you weren't here, then maybe we could close.

Many comments have been left on Facebook and other forms of social media about the note. Probably my favorite that keeps popping up is why is this couple out to eat at all? If they live by what they wrote, shouldn't they be at home enjoying the wife's home cooked meal?

So I think the lesson here is to not assume things about people and if you can't tip with money then just leave.
