Corey Griffin, inventor of 'Ice Bucket Challenge', who himself raised over $100,000.00 to help fight ALS has died.

According to the Boston Globe the 27 year old Venture Capitalist dived off of the 'Juice Guys' building on Straight Wharf in Nantucket around 2 am Monday morning.

Witnesses reported that Griffin floated to the surface and then went under. An off duty lifeguard made multiple dives and recovered Griffin from the bottom of the harbor. Police reported that CPR was unsuccessful.

Griffin, who's friend struggles with ALS, is credited with making the 'Ice Bucket Challenge' go viral.
