He's been making music, and making a difference, since the 1960's, and he's coming to Sioux City in November.  Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jackson Browne is scheduled to play the Orpheum Theatre, Monday, November 23, 2015. Ticket information will be announced soon.

Clyde Jackson Browne was 17 years old when he joined the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1966. He left the band a few months later and spent the next five years playing in New York City's Greenwich Village and Los Angeles.

In 1971, he signed with his manager David Geffen's Asylum Records, releasing his debut solo album, Jackson Browne, a year later. That album netted him his first Top Ten single, "Doctor My Eyes" (which peaked at #8 on the Billboard chart). That was the first of Jackson's ten Top 40 singles.

In his more than 40 year career, Jackson Browne has sold over 18 million albums in the United States. From 1976 to 1983, he put out four straight Top Five albums (The Pretender in 1976, Running on Empty in 1977, Hold Out in 1980, and Lawyers in Love in 1983). Hold Out went all the way to #1. His latest album, 2014's Standing in the Breach, reached #14 on the chart.

Jackson has also been very active in political causes over the years, appearing at a number of anti-nuclear rallies since the late 1970's, and protesting the U.S. policies in Central America in the 1980's. He has also appeared at Farm Aid events and concerts for Amnesty International.

In 2004, Jackson Browne was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Bruce Springsteen gave the induction speech. In 2007, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
