In news that will probably have you playing REM's 'Everybody Hurts' on repeat, actress Jane Lynch and her wife Dr. Lara Embry have announced they're getting divorced.

"Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter," Lynch said in a statement she passed on to People.

The duo initially met in 2009 at a fundraiser where Embry was being honored, and were married the following year in a small, personal Memorial Day ceremony in Massachusetts. The 'Glee' star not only got a wife in the deal, but a young step-daughter she adored.

"[Haden] happens to be an exceptional human being and one of the most fair, open-hearted, embracing people I have ever met — grownup or child,” she gushed in March. "I am surprised how much love you feel and how you would do anything for your children."

Blerg. Even Sue Sylvester would be sad right now.
