Johnny Manziel Talks Football, Controversy at SEC Media Day

College football is almost upon us, and Wednesday Texas A&M Aggies and Heisman quarterback Johnny Manziel spoke with reporters at SEC Media Day about his offseason. Manziel even told reporters that he feels like Justin Bieber or something.

Manziel spoke about why he left the Manning Passing Academy, along with with what he's learned in offseason.

Manziel first got to tell firsthand to the media why he left the Manning Passing Academy early this weekend. Manziel told ESPN's Joe Tessitore in an interview this morning that he was not asked to leave, and instead, his cellphone died, causing him to miss a meeting as a result.

Manziel said that he wasn't going into details when he was asked if he drank alcohol at the Manning Academy, either.

The Heisman winning quarterback said that he's had his fun, but now it's the point, the season is coming up. On ESPNU, he said, "I don't feel I have to prove anything, I want to win the SEC and get to Pasadena."

Manziel spoke about what he's learned with the social media network, Twitter. "Going back and bickering with people on Twitter, as much as it might make you feel better, it doesn't really get anything done. Twitter is what it is. I've learned a lot from it, and probably injured myself from time to time."

Manziel feels like he's made mistakes, but nothing catastrophic or criminal. "I've made mistakes. I try not to make the same one twice. I'm ready to do my talking on the field."

Lastly, Manziel said he developed a relationship with Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron at the Manning Passing Academy after the two roomed together. "He can sit there and talk about rings, and i can sit there and talk about a trophy." The two quarterbacks will clash on September 14 at Kyle Field at Texas A&M.

Manziel and Texas A&M open the season at home against Rice on August 31.
