Within days of the anniversary marking the Scott Westerhuis family deaths and burning of the family home, Judge Bruce Anderson has authorized the sale of remaining items, at the request of those handling the family estate.

Westerhuis is believed to have shot his family, set his home ablaze and shot himself just hours after hearing that funding would no longer be available to the organizations he ran to assist education for Native Americans in the state via Mid-Central Educational Cooperative and the Gear Up program.  Attorney general Marty Jackley later announced Westerhuis misused nearly one million dollars.

Items to be auctioned include vehicles, a hot tub, big screen televisions, mattresses, desks and over 300 life jackets.

The estate auction will take place on September 12th, and the anniversary of the families’ death is September 17, 2015.
