He's proven he can play a cowboy in a movie, he did that when he threw on the hat, and six shooter as "Doc" in 1988's western Young Guns. This time he's keeping the hat, and trading the gun for a microphone.

With a list solid list of credits that include 24, Lost Boys, and Stand By Me there's no question Kiefer Sutherland can act, but can he make the transition from silver screen to the country scene?

Sutherland names Kris Kristoferson, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash as his favorite country artists.

He will be spending time rubbing elbows in the country music circle this year as he prepares to be a presenter at the ACM awards.

His debut album Down in Hole, is a very personal project, the title track on the album "Down in a Hole," pays tribute to a friend who drank himself to death.

The album is due for release this summer, for those who can't wait, here is a taste of Keifer country.

He's not the first famous face to try and crossover, with the likes of William Shattner, Billy Bob Thorton, Jeff Bridges, Russel Crow, and Kevin Costner just to name a few.
