Kmart Black Thursday 41 Hours of Shopping

Not only did Kmart start their Christmas shopping ads before Halloween they have now announced that you will be able to start shopping at 6am on Thanksgiving morning as part of their "Black Friday" promotion.  Kmart will be open from 6 a.m. on Nov. 28th (Thanksgiving) until 11 p.m. on Friday Nov. 29th.

For those of you scoring at home that's 41 straight hours of shopping fun!

To use an old tired phrase: "Some people are crying foul."  Some people feel that the Thanksgiving Holiday is being overshadowed by frenzied shopping.  The point has also been made that many family traditions and celebrations are being disrupted because those employed in the retail industry have to work long hours on this national holiday.

What do you think?  As a country are we trading our family values for a couple of bucks or is this just good 'ol fashioned capitalism?
