It's about damn time.

With each member of Fifth Harmony fiddling in the studio and on stage between projects, from Camila Cabello's current Top 30 hit "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly to Ally Brooke singing with Echosmith — it only makes sense that Lauren Jauregui would eventually step into the studio on her own to vibe out.

The 5H superstar, who recently penned an impassioned open letter to Donald Trump supporters while simultaneously coming out as as a proud "bisexual Cuban-American woman" (and won herself a ton of love from famous friends and fans alike), makes her solo semi-debut with "Back To Me," a collaboration with "Down" songwriting electronic alt-pop duo Marian Hill.

Swapping verses with the group's singer Samantha Gongol, Lauren showcases a different side outside the Top 40 radio pop bubble with this tripping, trap-tinged cut with a subtle jazzy flair, which premiered today (Dec. 8) on FADER. It's a slightly left-of-center, lowkey collaboration — hardly showy from a vocal standpoint, allowing Lauren to experiment across some new musical textures. It's also super replay-friendly.

“Sam and Jeremy are such talented creatives and I was such a huge fan of theirs before we even met. Being able to form a genuine connection with them and then write together on this track was such an honor," Lauren says. "I’m happy to be able to give people a snippet of my vibe for the first time in collaboration with them. I’m very proud of this track so I hope everyone enjoys it."

“Ever since we first met Lauren at our show at the Roxy over a year ago, we’ve been talking about making something together," says the Act One duo. "Somehow, in the midst of both of our schedules, we managed to make it happen. ‘Back To Me’ began with the two of us on a plane and Lauren in a hotel room, ending with the recording in Jeremy’s bedroom. It has been our jam for the past several months. Now it belongs to you.”

"Love to watch you try and turn your back to me / When I know that any minute you'll be back to me," she confidently sings.

And judging by her recent Instagrams, it looks like she'll be coming back to us soon with even more.

The track is currently exclusive to FADER, so head over there to listen — it'll be hitting Spotify shortly.
