Sometimes a song does more than just sound pleasant to the ear. It delves deep into the heart and mind.

And so it is with the Lee Ann Womack 2000 hit 'I Hope You Dance'.

A beautiful song, it both moves you and inspires you. In other words, exactly what a great song is supposed to do. I've felt that 'I Hope You Dance' is truly one of the greatest songs of the past 20 years.

And now it's coming to television.

Brian Wilson, Vince Gill and Graham Nash are among those who will discuss the impact of the song "I Hope You Dance."

The Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Channel is planning a Thanksgiving night special called "I Hope You Dance: The Power and Spirit of Song." Lee Ann Womack, who recorded it originally, will tell stories about the creation of the song.

The special will be released on DVD on Dec. 1, and a companion book comes out that same day.

And in case you've never heard this great song, here it is.
