We here at Results Radio/Townsquare Media are always happy to help spread the word about community events, and there's another excellent one coming up this Friday that our friends over at KDLT TV are helping sponsor.

It's the "Lend an Arm, Save a Life" blood drive.

KDLT TV always teams up with the Sioux Falls Community Blood Bank the weekend before Memorial Day for the annual blood drive.

It kicks off at 10:00 AM on Friday (May 26) and runs through 3:00 PM that day.

The Community Blood Bank will set up shop in the HuHot parking lot at 41st Street and Western Avenue from 6:00-10:00 AM and then move next door to Scheels from 10:00 to 3:00 PM.

The public is invited to stop out that day and donate blood to help patients here in the Sioux Empire that are stuck in the hospital during the Memorial Day weekend.

They make it real easy, and real rewarding to donate. The first 50 people to Lend an Arm that day will receive a movie ticket to the West Mall 7 Theaters. Every single person who donates on Friday gets a special event t-shirt, a Farris wheel ride at Scheels, a pint for a pint D.Q. certificate from the South Minnesota Avenue Dairy Queen, and a free appetizer certificate from HuHot.

You must be at least 17 years old to donate or (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh at least 110 lbs or more and be in good health the day of the donation.

The Community Blood Bank asks that donors bring along I.D. and that each person eat, and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating.

The need for blood here in the Sioux Empire is always in demand. As KDLT News reports, the Community Blood Bank supplies over 550 units of blood each week to people throughout the Sioux Falls area. The blood donated helps benefit trauma and burn victims, cancer patients and persons undergoing surgery.

So please Lend an Arm this Friday. Remember, the life you help save could be yours, or the life of someone you love.
