Early Monday morning, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at 6803 S. Tomar Road.

The first arriving Engine Company investigated and found fire in the attic.  The fire was under control in approximately 10 minutes.  Crews remained on scene to check for fire extension in the attic and insulation.  There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be a lightning strike.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like residents to have a practiced evacuation plan in the event of an emergency.
