Long Awaited Sioux Falls Indoor Facility Now Open
It was just a shell last fall. Now indoor tennis on a grand scale is here in Sioux Falls.
The Huether Family Match Pointe is open for play. Sunday, April 12, 2105 will be the unveiling of upcoming attractions.
According to a press release, the official grand opening of Huether Family Match Pointe will be Saturday, April 25. On that day, a professional tennis star will help celebrate the formal opening by conducting youth clinics and playing singles and doubles exhibition matches.
Huether Family Match Pointe features six indoor tennis courts. The tennis center’s stated mission is to support all tennis opportunities, whether recreational, competitive or educational, for all players.
On the competitive side, Saturday the facility will host college women’s tennis. The University of Sioux Falls will host two dual matches to end their regular season against Minnesota-Duluth at 9:00 AM and St. Cloud State at 1:00 PM.
The Huether Family Match Pointe is one of several indoor facilities located at the Sanford Sports Complex. Also in the vicinity are the Sanford Pentagon, Scheels IcePlex and Sanford Fieldhouse, with outdoor Junior Football Fields.
