How did that Nazareth song go again, Love hurts, love scars, love wounds, and mars, any heart.

When love packs up its bags and hits the highway, many people just want to curl up on the couch, have a good cry, and cram as much food as they can in their face.

There is no denying the fact that after a long term relationship goes south, you're devastated, you're bummed for weeks, months, or for some, forever!

There's a study out now that confirms this. It says one in twelve people never recover from a really bad break-up, and they never will.

It takes the average person about one month for every year you spent together with your significant other to get over the loss of the relationship. So let's say you were with someone for three years, that means it will take three months for you to snap out of the doldrums and quit singing the blues.

Broken relationships generally hit women harder. It typically takes women 20% longer than men to recover from a relationship gone bad.

I realize it's tough to look at the positive side of a lost relationship. But, there are a few good things about being single.

According to Match.com, you spend four-to-five hours less doing chores every week.

Single women do 13 hours of chores a week, compared to 17 for women who are in a relationship or married. Single men, 9 hours versus 14 hours for married guys, or men in relationships.

You'll end up being more rested, because you'll get 30 more minutes of sleep a night.

You don't have to lie about your finances any longer. (Maybe that's what caused your relationship to go south in the first place?)

You're more likely to do well at work. Single people end up peaking in their careers later in life.

And finally you get to spend your money however you want to. No more hiding those secret purchases from your sweetheart to avoid a fight.

You see, maybe being single isn't that bad after all? I mean think about it, when was the last time the Ben & Jerry's ice cream bucket told you to get off your butt and do the laundry or mow the yard?
