Something very cool is happening for kids in the Sioux Empire on Saturday, October 3, 2015.

It's the day 'Sioux Empire Smiles' will be taking place at the Children’s Dental Center located at 3813 South Kiwanis Circle in Sioux Falls.

From 8:00 AM-5:00 PM that day, Children's Dental Center will be providing low-income and uninsured youth from across the Sioux Empire the opportunity to receive free dental care.

Pre-screening will begin at 7:00 AM that morning.

Children in need of dental care through the age of 18, who are a accompanied by a parent or legal guardian can get free dental screenings, treatments, such as fillings, extractions and cleanings.

Dentists, their auxiliaries, and community volunteers will donate their time as they see patients that day on a first come first served basis.

Organizers plan to see as many children as possible, with the goal of providing free services to 150, or more, children during the day-long event.

Along with the free dental care, the clinic will include free entertainment for kids, along with free preventive dentistry tips. Lunch will also be available for a small fee.

Sioux Empire Smiles, a program of the Southeastern District Dental Society and the South Dakota Dental Foundation is made available through funding from Sioux Empire United Way and the Delta Dental of South Dakota Foundation.
