This guy’s quest to set a world record had more than its fair share of ups and downs.

Mark Jordan, 54, is now the proud owner of the most pull-ups in a 24-hour period when he did 4,321 of them. We can only imagine the pain he must’ve felt when he tried to return the high-fives people on hand attempted to give him when he finished.

The Corpus Christi, Texas, man pulled off the feat in November, but Guinness only verified it this week, giving him more than enough time to pick up his exploded biceps off the floor, stuff them back in his arms, pick up his phone and respond to all the congratulatory texts.

The old record, by the way, was 4,210. Doesn't that guy feel like a hack today?

Jordan, who spent a year in training, used the opportunity to raise money for charity and said he hopes people look at him and see importance of staying in shape. He said, “My mission ... is to let everybody know that it's never too late to start to make a difference as far as improving and optimizing your health.”
