McMahon, Trautmann Named To Daktronics All-Central Region First Team
PITTSBURG, KS -- More post-season honors for Augustana's Jenelle Trautmann and Theresa McMahon.
The Vikings' softball standouts have been named to the Daktronics All-Central Region first team.
It's Trautmann's second straight appearance on the honor squad. Trautmann -- a sophomore from Hastings, Minn. -- tied her own Augustana record with 18 home runs for the second year in a row. She led the Vikings in home runs, RBI (48), and slugging percentage (.731), and had a .333 batting average. Trautmann also had a 25-11 pitching record with a 2.52 ERA, held opposing batters to a .241 average and struck out 208 in 216 2/3 innings pitched.
McMahon was selected to the Daktronics All-Region squad fir the first time. The Hartford senior led Augustana with 59 hits, 36 runs, and a .457 on-base percentage, and was second on the team with a .353 batting average and 28 RBI. She holds the Vikings all-time home run record with 43 after slugging nine homers this season. McMahon commited just one error in the field for a .996 fielding percentage.
Augustana finished the season 32-17 overall, 17-9 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Vikings' season ended Saturday in a 4-3 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State in the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament.
