The Major League Baseball GM meetings are currently going on in Boca Raton, FL and the Minnesota Twins and New York Yankees made some news on Wednesday.

The Twins traded outfielder Aaron Hicks to the Yankees in exchange for catcher John Ryan Murphy.

The thinking by many is that the shelf life on current starting catcher Kurt Suzuki is very small and that moving forward the Twins would like to find a long term catching solution after having to move Joe Mauer to 1st base two years ago.

The Yankees most likely will try to trade Brett Gardner as well and rumors have already surfaced about that possibility.

This is the second big move this week that the Twins have made news for as they negotiated the winning bid with Korean slugger Byung Ho Park and you can already tell the Twins wanted to be active this offseason.
