Today is the deadline for teams to use fifth-year options on first round rookies from the 2013 NFL Draft class. The Vikings have picked up two of three.

Back in 2013, the Vikings selected three players in the first round. Minnesota picked defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd 23rd overall. Two picks later the Vikings were able to grab cornerback Xavier Rhodes (as part of the Percy Harvin to Seattle trade). General Manager Rick Spielman then decided to trade 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 7th round pick to New England to grab wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson at pick 29.

For Vikings fans, this will come as no surprise as to who the team decided to pick up the options of a fifth year on. Minnesota has used the option on Floyd and Rhodes, and have left Patterson in the background.

Rhodes' agent Sunny Shah took to twitter to announce the option.

Rhodes has 155 tackles, two interceptions, and 39 pass deflections according to the NFL in his first three seasons. He has also started 38 games for the Vikings in those three years.

Floyd also went on twitter but used emoji's to show his feelings.

Floyd has also been productive for the Vikings having started 24 games. He has 95 combined tackles, 9.5 sacks, four pass deflections, and a forced fumble.

As for Patterson? That won't be the case as it is being reported that the Vikings have decided to pass on the option.

Patterson had just two receptions for ten yards last season and only started one game for the Vikings. He has 863 total career yards and five touchdowns. His kick-return game has become his only option to get on the field. Over his career he has returned 109 kicks for 3,283 yards and four touchdowns.
