The NFL has announced that Super Bowl LII in 2018 has been awarded to the new Vikings Stadium in Minneapolis.

The game is scheduled to take place on February 4, 2018.

The new stadium defeated the New Orleans Superdome and Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium.

This will be the second Super Bowl to be hosted in Minneapolis. The first being in 1992 when the Washington Redskins defeated the Buffalo Bills 37-24 in the Metrodome.
