More charges have been filed against a Sioux Falls man who allegedly injured three police officers as they tried to arrest him Wednesday morning.

Police had been called just after 7am to the 3200 block of North Lewis Avenue, where 31-year-old Rocky Thomas Traversie Junior had been fighting with family members.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says a search turned up narcotics after Traversie was arrested, including four bags in his pants pocket that tested positive for cocaine.

He says two bags had a half-gram, one had 3.5 grams and a third had 1.6 grams, so Traversie was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute.

Clemens says of the three officers who were injured, one had a concussion, another suffered a broken eye socket and the third had a dislocated shoulder and a possible knee injury.

Traversie was earlier charged with three counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement, five counts of kidnapping and two counts of domestic aggravated assault.

Clemens says it could be a couple of days before the injured officers return to work.
