Leaving an abusive home situation can be extremely difficult due to a ton of obstacles, including financial abuse. Well one moving company is doing a good deed for victims of domestic violence, offering them free moves so they can start a new life without worrying about the cost.

Meathead Movers, a company based in central California, has partnered with domestic abuse non-profit organization Good Shepherd shelter to help victims escape their situations. The company was founded by a bunch of student athletes back in 1997. Aaron Steed, who is the president and CEO of the company told LA Weekly:

“We know how hard it is to pack up someone’s life and move it to a new location, but it’s unimaginable to think about a woman and her children trying to pack up all their belongings and flee before the abuser returns home, When we realized we had the resources to help provide a fresh start for these victims, we knew Good Shepherd was the perfect organization to connect us with those who need our services most.”

The company, which made around 3,000 moves last year is looking to hire 200 employees by year-end at its four offices San Luis Obispo, California area.
