The man accused of aggravated assault in the death of Minnesota Viking running back Adrian Peterson's son in Sioux Falls is now facing second degree murder and first degree manslaughter charges as well.

27-year old Joseph Patterson has been indicted by a Lincoln County (SD) grand jury on a charge of second degree murder and alternative charges of first degree manslaughter, aggravated battery of an infant, and abuse or cruelty to a minor.

Two year old Tyrese Robert Ruffin died October 11 from injuries he suffered allegedly at the hands of Patterson on October 9 in their home in southwest Sioux Falls. Ruffin's biological father is Adrian Peterson, though Ruffin was being raised by his mom.
