Sioux Falls Police said a burglar was caught in the act by the owner of Stoplight Lounge early Thursday morning.

“The owner was driving by and observed some exterior lights to the bar that were not doing what they should be doing. He stopped to adjust those," explained Sioux Falls Police Lt. John Duprey.

"While doing so, a subject bolted from inside the bar. There should have been no one in there. The individual took off running to the west. The owner was able to call 911 and update metro communications as to what he observed.”

Once police arrived, Duprey says an arrest was made.

“Officers checked the area and noticed a male in the restroom of a Get-N -Go who was eventually identified as the person who was in the lounge. Basically some stuff had been destroyed in the lounge and stolen.”

Police arrested 30-year-old Corey Allen Taylor, who was shirtless at the time, and charging him with first degree burglary.

Right now, authorities are trying to locate a survellience footage DVR taken from the business.
