NASCAR History Made Sunday

With Joey Logano at age 26 winning, Chase Elliott 20 coming in second and Kyle Larson 23 finishing third, it was the youngest top three finish in NASCAR history Sunday at Michigan.

This win for Logano punches his ticket for the Chase playoffs. His win earlier this year at the All Star race at Charlotte didn't provide that.

Logano won at Michigan Sunday after starting on the pole. He led 138 of 200 laps on the two mile track.

He dominated a succession of restarts, except for one instance on Lap 117 when race runner-up Chase Elliott grabbed the lead. Then on lap 154, Elliott missed a shift and it was lights out for him as he gave up the lead.

In this racing, there's no room for mistakes. But Elliott still got a career best finish.

Logano's teammate, Brad Keselowski, ran fourth behind Larson, with Kevin Harvick rallying from a 29th-place starting position to finish fifth. Carl Edwards, Tony Stewart, Austin Dillon, Jamie McMurray and Kurt Busch completed the top 10.

Two former winners of this race were sidelined early. Kyle Busch lost an engine with a fiery detonation and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. got caught up in a crash. See where your driver finished.
