On Friday, NASCAR suspended one of its most popular and successful drivers as Kurt Busch has been suspended indefinitely after a Delaware judge said the former champion committed an act of domestic violence.

The act of domestic violence occurred on Busch's ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll (pictured above) and according to the courts, there was a substantial chance he may do it again.

This comes days before the Daytona 500.

NASCAR to this point had failed to levy down a punishment against the driver, but handed down swift judgement once the ruling came from the Delaware court system.

Reports have an appeal occurring at NASCAR headquarters on Saturday. (UPDATE: The appeal has been denied by NASCAR)

Busch has admittedly denied the alleged assault and has now become the first NASCAR driver to ever be suspended for domestic violence.
