Police say three teenagers were cited after a weekend incident that may have involved gunfire in a residential area of Sioux Falls.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says police had received a report of people yelling and screaming in the street in the 1100 block of West 15th Street around 1:30am Sunday.

He says as officers arrived, they heard a gunshot, which prompted most of the people who were in the street to leave the area, on foot or in vehicles.

He says the officers did not find shell casings and they don't know who was responsible for the gunshot.

But he says a few people who stayed around were teenagers, and they were arrested for underage consumption and curfew violations.

Clemens says the teenagers who were cited were two girls, 15 and 17 years old, and a 16-year-old boy.
