Students at Port Washington Middle School on Long Island, New York can no longer have a ball during recess.

According to ABC News, school officials there have outlawed footballs, baseballs, soccer balls, or any other 'hard ball', along with games of tag, and even cartwheels.

The reason given is to keep kids from getting hurt on school grounds.

But kids say it also keeps them from having fun.

Even some parents call it an over the top buzz kill, saying it doesn't let kids be kids.

Still, other schools have been contacting Port Washington officials to look into more potential ball bans.
