You start to borrow office supplies.

Everyone is guilty of taking a pen or two from the office. Maybe even a pack of post-it notes or a box of paper clips. But when you start to shop at the supply closet, researchers say this is a sign you are developing 'counterproductive work behaviors' or CWB for short. CWBs can take weeks to develop, but can quickly escalate to fights with co-workers at the office. When this happens, it might be a good time to take some time, regroup or even look at other job possibilities.

You can't remember why you wanted this job in the first place!

Many people that are feeling the pressure of their job often lose perspective on why they even come to their job. This is probably the most serious clue you are heading to job burnout. If this is you, it's time to use some of that built up vacation time to either regroup your thoughts or (maybe) even look for another job. Remember, there is probably a greater reason why you have your job. (i.e. need to support a family or pay your bills) So by taking some vacation time, you allow yourself some time to remember why you are working and (hopefully) find that positive attitude once again.
