Dr. Neil Clark Warren from Eharmony might beg to differ, but maybe online dating isn't all that it's cracked up to be?

Sure it seems easy enough. Fill out a profile, post a photo, then simply kickback and wait for all interested applicants to start filling up your inbox. Go on a few dates, find your true love, get married and live happily ever after. What could go wrong?

A study out of Michigan State University has found that couples who meet online or through a dating app are far more likely to break up than couples who meet the old-fashioned way.

The main reason why, it's way too easy to meet someone online.

People have a tendency to put less thought into whether they feel they have long-term potential with someone before they dive headfirst into a relationship.

The whole chase and courting process is often removed from the equation. With online dating it's kinda like presto, instant relationship, just add the internet.

Another interesting aspect of online dating, the sex generally ends up not being as good. About one in three people between the ages of 18 and 25 who had sex with someone they met through a dating app, reported the sex being less than stellar.

When people rated the sex they had with someone they met from a dating app compared to someone they met offline, the results didn't even compare. The dating app "scores" (no pun intended) were always much lower in every category.

Looks like it might be time to head back to the grocery store, the gym, a place of worship, a singles bar, or dare I say, relying on a friend or co-worker to set you up with someone again!
