There will be no shortage of turkey again this Thanksgiving at the Sioux Falls Banquet.

On Tuesday morning, November 17, members of the East Dakota Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation delivered 31 turkeys to The Banquet on East 8th Street.

Some of the turkeys will be used during the Banquet's annual Thanksgiving Day meal that will serve around 450 people. Other turkeys will help provide more than a dozen meals per week to those in need. That according to Banquet Executive Director Tamara Jerke-Liesinger.

The National Wild Turkey Federation works with a local grocery store in Sioux Falls and has been delivering turkeys to The Banquet for a number of years now.

Ron Schauer with The National Wild Turkey Federation says, "It feels good, you know, a lot of us are able to provide a good meal. We get together with friends and family and sometimes we lose sight or become complacent with how good we have it and it just feels good to give back."

Donations like the one from The Wild Turkey Federation, mean everything to The Banquet as they are 100 percent privately funded.

180,000 meals were served last year at The Banquet to nearly 600 people in need every day.
