When it comes to Peeps, you either love them or you hate them. I have found there really is no middle ground. The squishy, sugary, marshmallow confections, have gone from their one-time solitary springtime appearances at Easter to a second season from Halloween through Christmas, with a nearly year-round presence in some candy stores.

Those of us who adore them (and I do) eat them plain out of the package, roasted over an open fire, melted in s'mores, on top of cakes, cupcakes, cookies and much more. Peep-haters refuse to touch them unless they are throwing them in fire pits or driving over them in a parking lot!

After many years of gifting them to my (then) toddler, niece and nephew (yes Leah and Mikey, I'm talking about you!) in their Easter baskets. I found out, they had always despised them, would let them harden into sad, shrunken, remnants of their former plump, delicious selves and then pitch them into a burn barrel or fire pit, just to watch them burn!

But I digress. It has been brought to my attention that soon Peeps and breakfast aficionados will have the option of combining their two loves into one heavenly creation. Yes, Pancakes and Syrup Peeps will soon be on shelves.

That is the good news. The bad news is that Kroger stores supposedly have snapped up the exclusive rights to selling them! Peeps hogs! Oh well, Peeps lovers can still buy lots of other delicious varieties, knick-knacks and Peeps attire at the Peeps website.
