Patty’s Ponderings- -Chocolate Covered Tater Chips!
So what’s the big deal? Chocolate covered potato chips are anything but new! I remember the first time I had them sometime back in the 80’s. We saw them sitting on a table of holiday sweets at the grocery store that used to occupy the space in which Best Buy now resides. They were ruffled chips coated in dark chocolate and I thought- -“love potato chips, love dark chocolate, how could this be wrong?”
That is how long I’ve been aware of them, but my guess is they’ve been around even longer. But the fact that Frito-Lay is now producing them somehow makes them, “new”. Yup, this holiday season, and only at Target, you can get your previously unsatisfied, chocolate-covered potato chip fix for a mere $3.49 for a 5 ounce bag!
As for my experience; well, they weren’t horrible but that was the first and last time I ever purchased them. I found it was one concoction I had no affinity for. I like my potato chips minus chocolate and my chocolate minus potato chips. But chocolate dipped pretzels, now that’s a different story! Why? I don’t know. It just is.
