Patty’s Ponderings-Mammo Month
This goofy little animation above really struck me! It initially cracked me up and then, tear up. It reminded me of my friend Kim.
I’ve spoken before of my wonderful friend Kim Brenden and the irony of the fact that she was a valiant breast cancer fighter who lost her battle during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a couple of years ago, is not lost on me.
She beat it once for almost a decade and then it came back, this time she went down, as she always had, fighting.
She was one of the most talented people I have had the pleasure to know. She was a fabulous musician, singer, teacher and an even better person. She loved her family, her kids, hanging out with her friends, making and listening to music, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and her husband Jim.
Her life was, like a lot of ours, a very bumpy ride at times. But Jim came along and smoothed out the road. Their time together was short, but golden and I thank Kim for sharing Jim with us. Don’t worry, we’re keeping an eye on him.
She would have loved this little ghost emblem, (above), and would probably have had it tattooed somewhere or made t-shirts featuring it for all her friends. I’m going to name this obviously mischievous phantom “Kimmie” and think of her bright spirit each time I see it.
Ladies, please schedule your mammogram soon! If you’re wondering what my last one was like, please click on the yellow button below and find out. I promise you’ll laugh!
