Geez-a-loo! I realize that there was a serious police situation at the Bridges area this morning, in fact those poor law enforcement guys are still out there working, (as of 1 p.m.), but for cryin’ out loud. . .!

I’m on my way to a live broadcast at Cell Only at 57th & Cliff and I swing into Starbucks off of 57th and Western to order my beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte. Yes traffic was still slowed on Western, but did not involve Starbucks, so I pull in and almost get hit by some guy who couldn’t decide whether to park or drive through! (And they say women are indecisive!) He did an approximate 12 point turn trying to get out of the parking lot!

I pull into line and the chick in front of me was doing her full makeup and waiting.  As we slowly pull forward, I see there are at least 6 cars ahead of me! I start calculating, “okay 2 to 3 minutes per car, I’m fine, no worries, plenty of time to be on-time.”

Twenty minutes later, I’m almost to the order speaker, but it’s too late. I pull around the freshly made up woman in front of me and hightail it to my live broadcast. On-time, but latte-less!

Yes, I am an unabashed fan of Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte. Now before you yell at me about not supporting local coffee shops, I do, all of them. (Not to mention that Starbucks employs local people we all know and hey, I’m a good tipper!) But when it comes to the fall and winter seasonal selections, I’ve tried just about every one in town and they are all good, but they just aren’t the same.

I only wish that Starbucks still offered their Christmas Espresso Truffle. That little creation was a heavenly holiday in a cup!
