Patty’s Ponderings: Sioux Falls, My How You’ve Grown!

Every year I have been blessed to do a live broadcast at Landscape Garden Center for the holiday open house. For me it serves multi-purposes; it lets listeners know what a wonderful place it is, and I get to take in the sights, sounds and smells of the season in a generally peaceful setting which serves as a reminder that other people treasure the holidays as I do.

When I first moved to Sioux Falls, back in 1981, every commercial you saw or heard about Landscape, referred to it as-'Landscape Garden Center, in the country, just south of Sioux Falls.'

That should be some indication of how much Sioux Falls has grown! Indeed, you used to drive quite a ways to get there. Forty ninth street used to be the southern outer edge of town and the Empire Mall wasn't even finished. Weird, huh?
