If you’re traveling for Thanksgiving, you will not have the road to yourself. Triple A says there will be thousands more drivers on our roads this holiday weekend and millions, nationwide.

With the price of plane tickets up and the number of available flights down the trend of driving to get there will continue to rise. Apparently the trend of people dying during the Thanksgiving Day weekend is also on the rise.

Federal statistics over a 5 year period, tell us that the average number of fatalities during Thanksgiving Day week is 50 people more than any other week of the year. From 2005 to 2010, that number was 798 people.

Triple A South Dakota is once again reminding us to be extra cautious with increased traffic this upcoming weekend.

I’ll just remind you that we want you around next Monday. So, for crying out loud, be careful out there!
