Pink Slapped With $36K Lawsuit by Former Producers

You’re not a real superstar performer these days if somebody isn’t suing you for something. Pink is the latest star to be hit with litigation after her former producers filed suit for more than $36K in unpaid royalties for songs they worked on way back in 1999.

In December, an entity called Specialists Entertainment filed the lawsuit, claiming they and Thunderstone Productions had an agreement to produce tracks for Pink’s debut album ‘Can’t Take Me Home,’ which dropped in 2000. Specialists worked on the title track and the song ‘Hiccup,’ and the company says it still has not been paid for $36,213.31 in royalties.

‘Can’t Take Me Home’ sold 5 million copies and produced the hits ‘Most Girls’ and ‘There You Go.’ A rep for Pink says the lawsuit is without merit, because the record label, not the singer, is supposed to distribute royalties. “Sony are responsible for paying the producers,” the spokesperson says.

If that’s the case, Pink has nothing to worry about, because the suit is aimed at the wrong person. The singer has more important things on her mind right now, like the Grammy Awards on Feb. 10, where she’s nominated for an award, and her massive U.S. arena tour, which kicks off in Phoenix three days later. You can win tickets to attend her L.A.  concert and win a guitar autographed by Pink herself in our Pink prize package giveaway.
