Sioux Falls Police are searching for a man who allegedly grabbed a six year old girl at a supermarket.

"This was Tuesday afternoon," Police Spokesman Sam Clemens explained. "We had a woman with her three children at Hy-Vee on South Minnesota Avenue. She happened to see this man walk by and didn't really think much of it. When they were done in the store, she noticed her six year old was acting a little different. She asked the girl what happened. The girl said this man walked past and then ended up grabbing her around the waist. Doesn't sound like anything was said. We're trying to figure out who he is and why he grabbed this girl."

Clemens says it's important for parents to be aware of their surroundings.

"Parents need to have a good idea of what's going on around them. In this case, mom apparently knew what was going on. She happened to see this guy and was able to give us a description. Sure, you're not able to watch the kids all the time. Do your best and keep an eye on them. Have a conversation with your children and let them know what's appropriate and not appropriate. If someone does something that they don't think is right they need to inform a parent right away."

Clemens says the man is white, 55 to 60 years old, 5'10" with a husky build.
