During Monday's Police Briefing, Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says Frederick James McAbee allegedly raped his daughter.

"Our suspect picked up his daughter from school on Thursday and drove her around for some time. That night he ended up raping the girl in the van. They were driving around the area right after the rape took place. He ended up shooting a gun at her two different times. She jumped out of the van and ran to a house in the neighborhood for help. We ended up finding him the next day in Pipestone, Minnesota. We had some information that he may be there. So we sent authorities the details and they were able to find him."

Clemens says McAbee faces a number of charges.

"He has been arrested for several different felony charges including rape and attempted murder. The arrest warrant has a two million dollar cash only bond on it."

Clemens says the 14-year-old victim is in a safe place.
